Climate Cafe talk by Bruce Anderson '90

Join us in the Freeman Room on Friday, October 25th at 7pm to hear Dr. Bruce Anderson ’90 discuss climate models.

Dr. Bruce Anderson '90 returns to campus for our third Climate Cafe to talk about climate models and engage in an Ask a Climate Scientist Anything session: What goes into models? What do they tell us? How do they shape our response to global warming?

This is event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Anderson is a Faculty Research Fellow in Residence at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future. He also works with the public sector on climate variability and the impacts of climate change. He was a Research Consultant for the Union of Concerned Scientists’s Northeast Climate Impacts Assessment (NECIA) project, an expert advisor for the Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment for Cambridge, MA, and a contributing author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 5th Assessment Report. He was one of the inaugural Grantham Institute for Climate Change Visiting Fellows at Imperial College for Science, Technology and Medicine and has also been a Royal Society Visiting Scientist, National Research Council Fellow and a NOAA Visiting Scientist Fellow. Dr. Anderson has more than 50 peer-reviewed articles published or in press and has been an invited speaker at both national and international universities, conferences, and workshops. He is a lead author of an introductory undergraduate textbook on Weather and Climate, published jointly by John Wiley & Sons and the National Geographic Society (2008).

Dr. Anderson received a Ph.D. from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 1998 and graduated with a B.S. in Physics from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1994.
