Endowed Funds
The extraordinary materials collection of the Oliver Wendell Holmes Library has been built over time, thanks to the generosity of alumni and other donors. The current materials budget is funded from the proceeds of thirty-one separate endowments created to support the OWHL.
As a token of our appreciation and honor, special bookplates are affixed inside each book to indicate the endowed fund that supported its purchase. Some of the funds are no longer associated with living donors to whom we can express our thanks, but each time a student uses a book, the plate serves as a tribute to the memory of the individual who made the purchase possible.
